How do people keep on going in a field of art where you can see so many people who are better than you, sometimes been doing it for less time and make it all look so easy? I keep on trying to do better with my sculpts but they all just seem to come out so... boring and stale compared to others. Don't get the wrong end of the stick here, I'm not giving up... Yet. I try and take inspiration from others but it get too much sometimes.

Guess I just need to keep on marching on with all this.

On a side note I have been working on things.

The armoured deer I've wanted to do since BUCK has started to take shape but is still a ways off, still in the blocking out stage

And the 2nd wyvern has started to get a lick of paint as well

So, here to hoping that these will bring me from the brink of disaster of packing the clay away...
White Wyvern by McMesser
White Wyvern
My god I've had this guy for way too long and I've finally gotten around to finish painting him.

The white was a bit of a pain to do but I learnt a lot from this, mainly how to get it to look smooth. Now to start on the 2nd one so I can mount them on my wall, thinking of trying using some spray paint, see what effect I get out of it all.

Let me know what you all think please. Thanks

*Note this wasn't made by me, just another simple re-paint*

Sparrow finished by McMesser
Sparrow finished
Finally all finished, well actually finished this last week. But with everything that's been going on I completely forgot to upload this. For that I'm sorry

Anyway, this was a lot of fun to work on. Getting the pose right was a bit of a pain but came out well in the end. also my first attempt at a more real life like face for a horse as opposed to the MLP style I've done in the past.

Let me know what you all think.

Thanks.

Wow, this weekend has been a hell of a ride.

Lets start from the beginning. Friday was a brilliant day, got to attend the wedding of my best friend Nick and his boyfriend Andrew. Just gonna say, what an amazing ceremony and party afterwards, the room was amazingly decorated and everything went off without a hitch. But could have done without getting home at 1:30 in the morning, especially with what was the next day... BUCK.

I had such a great time at the con, everyone I met was brilliant and fun to chat with. The panels were amazing and a lot of fun, the improve ‘Who’s show is it anyway?’ had me in hysterics, I swear I haven’t laughed that much in a long long time. One of the many highlights of the con was getting to meet and chat a little bit with FrozenPyro. Really great guy. XD

All the pictures I took (Way too many to post on here) I’ve posted up on imgur, Feel free to re-post any pictures of yourself anywhere you wish or just take them for yourself.

So, thanks to everyone. All the staff, vendors, the guests and of course the attendees. You made this a great weekend, one I’m not gonna forget for a long long time.

But now things kinda take a sad turn, you see my cats not been well for a few months. Her back legs have slowly been giving out on her and she's just been getting worse and worse, even the pain meds we've been giving her to help her get around hadn't been helping much as of late. So, she had a slight fall off my bed yesterday so me and my sister took her to the vets to make sure everything was okay. The vet who'd been seeing her over the past few months said nothing else was wrong, but said that it was probably best for Smudge to call it a day and have her put down, as she wasn't getting any better. So, me and my sister decided just that, the cat we'd had for at least 15 years of our lives has finally gone. I'm gonna miss her, but thanks for everything Smudge. :)

But on the sculpting side.... I had planned on starting another figure, I've got the armature all done I just need to cover it in foil. But I've no idea when I'll be wanting to do anything like that, but I'll try and get something started and have pictures up sometime soon.

Thanks.

Got quite a bit of useful feedback on this so made a few little changes. Mainly lowered the eyes a little bit and added a bit of detail to the hooves.

Again, let me know what you all think in the comments below.

Thanks

Well here we go, about time I put something up here. Not that anyone's going to read this. And if you are, HUZZAH, I now like you *Hugz*

Now anyway, let's put something worth while down shall I?

I'm Chris, 26 and currently living in sunny old England and have just started making some little clay figures mainly of everyone's (and if it's not, it will be) TV show My little pony: Friendship is Magic. And I needed a place to show my creations and hopefully get some feedback on how they look and how to get better. So, please comment!

Going to be trying to get a figure out every week/week and a half, so please comeback every now and again to see what's what.

Hope you like what you see.
Chris.
